Local MSP, Keith Brown, has written to Clackmannanshire Council to seek assurances that all avenues will be explored to ensure that Clackmannanshire Credit Union can continue to operate fully.
This follows communication from Clackmannanshire Credit Union, that they had been served a Notice to Quit their current premises in Tullibody from their landlords, Clackmannanshire Council.
Commenting Mr Brown said: “It is concerning that, despite receiving assurances to the contrary, Clackmannanshire Council have served Clackmannanshire Credit Union with notice to quit their premises which puts their future in jeopardy. It is unacceptable that only two months ago they were given guarantees which Clackmannanshire Council have now withdrawn with no prior warning.
“This will be concerning to the 700 member of Clackmannanshire Credit Union and the Council must do all it can to support the continuation of this vital local service and I have written to Clackmannanshire Council to ask that they do just that.”
