Clackmannanshire and Dunblane MSP, Keith Brown, has marked Scotland’s first Women & Girls in Sport Week by attending a girls football festival at Dunblane High School.

The tournament, organised by Stirling’s Active Schools, was attended by over sixty primary four girls from Dunblane’s three primary schools and offered the pupils the opportunity to learn more about football and hone their skills.

Keith Brown MSP said:  “It was great to have the opportunity to attend the football festival to show my support for Scottish Woman & Girls Sports Week 2017.

“We know that increased participation in sport and physical activity improves health and well-being.  Although physical activity levels among girls is increasing, there is much more to do to increase participation and raise awareness for removing barriers and events like this play an important part in that.”
