Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane constituency, has welcomed the progress that has been made by the SNP Administration Group on Clackmannanshire Council in bringing forward a paper proposing a range of options for the future of Greenfield House in Alloa.

Speaking today, Keith said:

“I know that the deteriorating state of the property has given rise to real concerns locally, particularly in relation to safety and security at the site.

“The decision to sell the building was made with the best of intentions but disappointingly the plans the owner had for developing the property do not seem likely to ever come to fruition while the building has fallen into disrepair.

“I am therefore pleased that the SNP Administration Group on the Council has taken steps to address the matter.

“The paper that is being taken to Council offers up three possible courses of action and I am really pleased that one of those is to take the building back in to public ownership.

“That would certainly be my preferred choice.  It really would be good to see the building safe, in use, and serving the local community once more.”
