Keith Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for the Clackmannanshire & Dunblane, has welcomed the news that, from 31 January 2022, free bus travel will be funded for all Scottish residents aged under 22.
Speaking this afternoon, Mr Brown said:
“Once more, we are seeing the SNP putting in place the innovative, exciting policies that were at the heart of our election campaign earlier in the year and which were massively endorsed by the people of Scotland, including here in Clackmannanshire & Dunblane.
“The introduction of free bus travel for those aged under 22 is a real ‘fare deal’’ for young Scots. Travel costs can be a barrier to employment and inclusion for many young people and this bold policy will help to overcome that.
“Promotion of bus use also brings environmental benefits and can help to protect services. All told, this is fantastic news and I am delighted to welcome it.”
