Clackmannanshire and Dunblane MSP Keith Brown is calling for locals to step forward to highlight individuals who have gone the extra mile during the pandemic.

A special event in October will mark the sixth session of the Scottish Parliament since it was reconvened in 1999, and MSPs are invited to nominate local heroes who have worked hard over the pandemic to bring local communities together in recent months.

MSPs must submit nomination by August 27th, so Mr Brown is calling on locals to get in touch to ensure that those who have offered lifeline support to people and communities during this difficult time are recognised.

Commenting., Keith Brown MSP said:

“People all over the country have gone the extra mile to support the most vulnerable during the course of the pandemic. Out of what has been a pretty tough time for everyone, we have seen the very best of humanity on display.

“I am pleased that, as the Scottish Parliament is set to mark its sixth session since coming back into existence, we will be paying tribute to these amazing people.

“Throughout the pandemic, I have been in touch with individuals and organisations who have done tremendous things and shown real dedication to helping those in their communities. However, I’m also conscious that many people have gone to great lengths to display immense acts of kindness and support to others quietly.

“That’s why I’m asking people to get in touch with me so that I can submit nominations of amazing people in the local area who have really made a difference to people in their communities.”
